Where found

Shrubland in rocky areas. Kosciuszko National Park and ACT. Tablelands east and south of the ACT.

Notes

Tree to 50 m high, or mallee. Bark often smooth throughout, shedding in short ribbons. Bark often rough on the lower trunk of trees, fibrous, grey. Branchlets usually glaucous. Juvenile stem rounded or square in cross section, usually glaucous, sometimes warty. Juvenile leaves stalkless, opposite each other for many pairs, eventually alternating up the stems and stalked, 1.5–7 cm long, 20–80 mm wide, blue-grey or glaucous. Adult leaves alternating up the stems, 6–17 cm long, 12–35 mm wide, glossy or dull, green or blue-green or grey-green. Flowers white, with 0 petals. Flower clusters 3-flowered. Mature flower buds 5–10 mm long, caps shorter than the base. Gumnuts 6–12 mm in diameter. Gumnuts that have dropped their seed have valves that are not very noticeable.

All native plants on unleased land in the ACT are protected.
