Dry forest, woodland, rocky areas, and near streams. Sydney area, Blue Mountains, and the eastern edge of the tablelands west of the Blue Mountains.
Shrub to 1.5 m high, clona, hairlessl. Stems 4-angled, narrowly winged. Leaves opposite each other, mostly 2.5–3 cm long, 4–6 mm wide, margins toothed. Flowers with 4 creamy white petals each usually 9.5–14 mm long. Flowers in clusters up the stems. Flowers winter-spring. The seed case, a 4-winged nut, is only known in the immature state, as the it is usually aborted before maturity.
