Forest and heath. Ranges and tablelands south from near Nerriga. Rarely elsewhere.
Shrub to 2 m high, hairless. Stems 4-ribbed. Leaves opposite each other, adult leaves 1–1.8 cm long, 1–3 mm wide, margins obscurely toothed in the upper half. Juvenile leaves dissected. Flowers with 4 cream, sometimes tinged pink, petals, each 4.5–6 mm long. Flowers in subclusters of up to 7 flowers, 12–14 subclusters making up the compound cluster. Flowers Spring to Summer. Seed cases more or less pyramidal, with 4 narrow wings, 3-5 mm long, 1.5-2 mm in diameter.
