Disturbed areas and lawns, north from the Sydney area, occasionally farther south.
Introduced perennial herb to 0.40 m high. Stems hairless to hairy. Leaves in a basal rosette, 5–15 cm long, 15–30 mm wide, with a broad winged stalk-like base. Stem leaves (if present) similar, alternating up the stems, stalkless, becoming smaller and bract-like up the stems. Flower heads with many white to cream ‘petals’ 2-3 mm long. Flower heads below the ‘petals’ 4-10 mm in diameter. Flower heads single, on branched stems. Flowering: mainly spring, but also summer–autumn.
