Forest, woodland, disturbed sites, and roadsides. Kosciuszko National Park, the mountains to the north, and ACT. Tablelands south of the Hume Highway.
Introduced annual herb to 0.40 m high, hairless except for the glandular hairs on the inflorescence. Leaves whorled near the base, alternating up the stems higher up, 0.4–3.5 cm long, 1–2 mm wide. Flowers 3-4 mm long, pale blue to purple, at least the rounded boss at the base of the 3 lower lobes often white; tubular, 2-lipped, with 5 lobes, and with a curved spur 1–3 mm long pointing back at about right-angles to the tube. Flowers in many-flowered clusters, at first dense, elongating at the seeding stage. Flowering: chiefly spring.
