Dry forest, mallee, woodland, and shrubland. Mainly Western Slopes. Occasionally elsewhere.
Shrub to 3 m high. Bark papery on older stems. Leaves aromatic when rubbed, alternating up the stems, about 1.5–5 cm long, about 1 mm wide, tips pointed with a fine curved tip, surfacees becoming hairless. Flowers white to yellow, in dense, globular or oblong heads, 10-20 mm long. Individual flowers with 5 petals each about 1 mm long, usually in 3s. Stamens about 4-6 mm long. Flowers mostly spring.
