Dry forest and woodland near rivers and streams. ACT. Tablelands and the western edge of the ranges south of the Hume Highway. Occasionally Kosciuszko National Park.
Shrub to 2 m tall. Stems with a short whitish stellate tomentum (needs a hand lens or a macro app on your phone/tablet to see). Leaves alternating up the stems, 0.8-2 cm long, 3-7 mm wide, upper surface dark green, velvety with a covering of minute stellate hairs lower surface very shortly whitish stellate-hairy, lateral veins looping to the inside and not reaching the leaf margins, margins entire. Flowers cream to pale yellow, with 0 petals, and 5 sepals, in branched clusters. Flowers Spring to Summer.
Vulnerable Australia. Vulnerable NSW. Provisions of the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 No 63 relating to the protection of protected plants generally also apply to plants that are a threatened species.
Vulnerable ACT. All native plants on unleased land in the ACT are protected.
