Dry forest, woodland, heath, swampy areas, and along streams. Ranges and tablelands.
Shrub or small tree to 3 m tall. Stems angled, hairless. Leaves alternating up the stems, 0.3-1.5 cm long, 1-4 mm wide, concave in cross section, surfaces hairless, lower surface darker than upper surface, tips blunt, margins flat to curved upwards. Flowers 5-9 mm long, pea shaped, with 5 petals, 2 joined together to form the keel. Standard petal yellow to orange usually with red markings, wings yellow to orange, keel yellow to red. Bracteoles round, inserted at the base of the calyx tube. Flowers in dense leafy clusters. Pods hairless. Flowers Winter to Summer.
