Woodland, grassland, disturbed sites, and gullies and other moist sites. Western Slopes, Kosciuszko National Park, the mountains to the north, ACT, and the tablelands. Rarely in the ranges.
Annual herb to 0.6 m tall. Stems hairy to almost hairless. Leaves alternating up the stems, 0.5-4 cm long, to 40 mm wide, compound or deeply dissected, with 3-5 leaflets or lobes, the leaflets or lobes further dissected. Flowers green, with 2-5 yellow petals each 1-2 mm long, in loose clusters. Sepals curved down. Flowers Winter to Summer. Seeds usually 10–20, lens shaped, 1.5–2 mm long overall, with a very short blunt or minutely hooked triangular beak about 0.2 mm long.
