Woodland, grassy areas, disturbed sites, and bare ground. Western Slopes. Introduced in Sydney.
Shrub to about 1 m high, with many entangled branches. Branches densely hairy with fine hairs. Leaves alternating up the stems, 0.5–1.5 cm long, 3–6 mm wide, densely hairy, flat, tips blunt to broadly pointed. Flowers tiny (less than 3mm in diameter), cup-shaped, with 3-5 lobes, single. Burrs with 5 spines, hard, woolly.
General Biosecurity Duty all NSW. Always check native vegetation requirements before undertaking control of a weedy native plant.
