Dry forest, woodland, grassy areas, and disturbed sites. Coast, ranges, and tablelands, north of Kiama. Western Slopes. Occasionally elsewhere.
Perennial herb, prostrate to sprawling, to 30 cm diameter. Stems stellate hairy (needs a hand lens or a macro app on your phone/tablet to see) to hairless. Leaves more or less alternating along the stems, 1-3 cm long, 7-30 mm wide, stellate hairy, upper surface dark green to grey-green, lower surface paler with a denser pubescence, sometimes almost scaly, margins toothed or scalloped Flowers 4-7 mm long, with 5 yellow petals 3–7 mm long, in clusters of 1-4 flowers. Flowers most of year.
