Forest, heath, and shrubland, often in moist places. Ranges and tablelands. Coastal south of Eden and north of Lake Tabourie.
Perennial herb to about 0.4 m high. Leaves alternating up the stems, appearing basal, 12–35 cm long, 1–5 mm wide, with several prominent rounded veins on the lower surface. Flowers with 6 white or cream 'petals', each 4.3–9 mm long. Flowers in open branched clusters shorter than or barely longer than the leaves. Flowers Spring to Summer.
Hybridizes with Thelionema caespitosum.
Family Phormiaceae in NSW. Family Asphodelaceae in Vic.
