Wet heath, wet rocky shelves, moist stream banks, and swamps. Coast and ranges.
Probably perennial herb to 0.3 m high, stoloniferous. Insect traps few, on the stolons. Leaves few, 0.4–0.8 cm long, 1–2 mm wide. Flowers mauve to pink, 9–15 mm long, upper lip oval, tip notched; lower lip much larger, broadly oval, with 8–10 short longitudinal ridges, the central ridge 2 sometimes yellow, the lateral ridges white. Flowers single or paired. Flowers August–May.
