Climbing shrub or sprawling perennial herb to 1 m high, rooting at the nodes. Stems sparsely hairy. Leaves opposite each other, 2–12 cm long, 15–65 mm wide, tips pointed to blunt, surfaces grey-green to yellow-green; upper surface sparsely to moderately densely appressed bristly, lower surface with dense erect or somewhat appressed simple hairs, margins toothed, or rarely almost entire. Flower heads 20–25 mm in diameter. 'Petals' 7–16, yellow, sometimes white. Centres yellow, with about 50 florets. Flower heads in clusters of 1–5. Flowers summer.
