Aerial stem-parasitic shrub. Short epicortical runners present.

Leaf blades elliptic to obovate, about 5.5-11 x 3-8 cm, without any obvious venation. Leaves usually oposite, sometimes in whorls of 3 to 4. Petioles very short, about 0.4-0.8 cm long.

Flowers produced in pedunculate umbels with 2-5 rays of diads or triads. Primary peduncle about 12-20 mm long, peduncle in the umbels about 5-10 mm long. Flowers sessile. Calyx lobes nil or inconspicuous. Calyx limb about 0.5-1 mm long. Corolla lobes red, about 20-23 x 8-10 mm. Anthers about 3 mm long, anther filaments about 8 mm long. Ovary about 2-3 mm long. Style about 20 mm long.

Fruits ellipsoid to obovoid, 7-10 mm long, calyx limb and style often persistent at the apex.

Features not available.

Occurs in NEQ at an altitude of 1000 m. Known only from a single collection in NEQ. Also occurs in northern NSW with no known occurences in between. Also found in New Guinea. Barlow (1992).
