Aristolochiaceae
Family Description

A family of about 9 genera and about 490 species, most of them in the genus Aristolochia, pantropic but with species extending into temperate areas; 1 genus occurs naturally in Australia.

Genera

Aristolochia - A genus of about 300 species, pantropic.  Six species occur naturally in Australia and four species are naturalised. Ding Hou (1984); Parsons (1996); Ross & Halford (2007); Buchwalder (2014).

Pararistolochia - A genus of over 31 species in Africa, Malesia and Australia; seven species occur naturally in Australia. Parsons (1996); Ross & Halford (2007).
