Lenticels large, numerous and conspicuous. A narrow dark layer usually visible between the inner and outer blaze. Red exudate slow and meagre but noticeable.

Leaflets with inconspicuous teeth on the upper half only. Leaflet blades about 10-15 x 3-5.5 cm. Lateral veins forming loops inside the blade margin. Leaflet stalks about 0.5-2.5 cm long. Stipules about 10 mm long, somewhat resinous, rounded and spathulate at the apex.

Cotyledons orbicular, about 15-18 x 15-18 mm. First pair of true leaves opposite, narrowly lanceolate, base attenuate. Margins serrate. Midrib raised on the upper surface. Stipules triangular, about 1-1.5 mm long. Stem 2-winged.

Endemic to NEQ, a species known only from a few collections from Big Tableland (south of Cooktown), Roaring Meg Creek, Mt Sorrow and Mt Hemmant (near Thornton Peak). Altitudinal range from 600-700 m. Grows in well developed upland rain forest.
