Seldom exceeding 30 cm dbh. Blaze odour aromatic and spicy.
Leaf blades about 5-16 x 4-6 cm, undersurface clothed in stellate hairs and stellate scales. Upper surface of the leaf blade clothed in stellate scales. Two shallow cup-shaped glands visible on the underside, at the base of the leaf blade, one on either side of the midrib. Oil dots visible with a lens. Stipules very small and inconspicuous.
Inflorescence and floral parts densely clothed in stellate hairs and scales. Male flowers: Flowers about 3 mm diam. with about 10-12 stamens. Female flowers: Flowers about 4 mm diam. with a reduced corolla consisting of a tuft of hairs. Ovary stellate hairy.

Endemic to Queensland, occurs in CYP and the northern extremity of NEQ. Altitudinal range from near sea level to 400 m. Grows in monsoon forest and similar types of vegetation.
