Euodia pubifolia T.G.Hartley

Occasionally grows into a small tree but usually flowers and fruits as a shrub 3-4 m tall.

Leaves generally trifoliolate, occasionally simple. Leaflet blades about 9-12.5 x 2.5-3.5 cm, leaflet stalks about 0.5-0.6 cm long. Terminal buds and young shoots densely clothed in pale brown hairs. Leaflets hairy on the upper surface. Lateral leaflets unequal sided at the base. Leaflets aromatic when crushed.

Inflorescence few-flowered. Flowers about 5 mm diam. Pedicels and calyx clothed in translucent hairs. Petals pubescent on the outer and inner surfaces. Staminal filaments hairy. Anthers apiculate at the apex. Pollen white or translucent. Disk consists of a large pale yellow, thick, fleshy gland or glands surrounding the base of the ovary between the staminal filaments. Carpels pubescent, +/- free from one another near the base but fused at the apex. Stigma pale green.

Individual fruiting carpels about 5-6 x 4 mm, outer surface textured and clothed in glandular-based hairs. Seeds about 3.5-5 x 2.5 mm. Testa rugose.

Endemic to NEQ. Altitudinal range from near sea level to 200 m. Grows as an understory plant in well developed lowland rain forest.
