Living bark layer very thin. Dead bark layered.
Fruits globular, about 7-8 mm diam., calyx lobes persistent at the apex. Testa relatively thick, hard and horny. Embryo coiled and/or twisted with the cotyledons +/- in the middle of the spiral. Cotyledons purplish, much more slender than the radicle.
Cotyledons narrowly ovate, about 7-9 x 2 mm with a short mucro at the apex; oil dots visible with a lens, more numerous about the margin. Stipules present. Hypocotyl slightly swollen. At the tenth leaf stage: leaf blade narrowly ovate, apex long-acuminate, base attenuate, glabrous; oil dots numerous, visible to the naked eye; stipule-like glands present at the base of the petioles; petiole hairy. Seed germination time 11 days.
Probably endemic to NEQ, known only from collections made in the Mt Spurgeon-Mt Lewis area and the Windsor Tableland. Altitudinal range from 850-1200 m. Grows as an understory tree in mountain rain forest.
