Family Description

A family of about 25-30 genera and 170-250 species widespread in tropical and subtropical regions; three genera occur naturally in Australia.

Genera

Anacolosa - A genus of about 15-22 species in Africa, Madagascar, Asia, Malesia, Australia and the Pacific islands; one species occurs naturally in Australia. George (1984); Sleumer (1984).

Olax - A genus of about 40-60 species in tropical Africa, Madagascar, Malesia, Australia and the Pacific islands(?); 11 species occur naturally in Australia. George (1984); Sleumer (1984).

Ximenia - A genus of about 8-15 species, pantropic; one species occurs naturally in Australia. George (1984); Sleumer (1984).
