Parsonsia bartlensis J.B.Williams

A slender vine not attaining a stem diameter greater than 2 cm.
Leaf blades about 3-6 x 1-2.2 cm, petioles about 0.5-0.8 cm long. Low surface of the leaf blades clothed in minute, translucent, appressed hairs at least on the midrib and lateral veins. Lateral veins about 6-7 on each side of the midrib. Petioles and twigs produce a clear exudate.
Flowers about 2.5-3.5 mm diam. at anthesis. Calyx lobes about 1.2-1.5 mm long, glabrous, finger-like glands visible near the base on the inner surface. Corolla tube about 1-2 mm long, densely hairy towards the apex, i.e. the throat. Corolla lobes +/- erect, about 3 mm long, sometimes slightly shorter that the tube, lobes hairy on the inner surface, the hairs pointing downwards. Anthers about 2 mm long, +/- sagittate at the base, ventrifixed, filaments hairy, about 1 mm long. Anthers cohering to form a cone. Nectary glands about 0.6 mm long surrounding the ovary. Ovules numerous in each locule.
