Family Description

A family of about 12-16 genera and 600-700 species, pantropic; three genera occur naturally in Australia.

Genera

Adenia - A genus of 92 species in Africa, Madagascar, SE Asia, Malesia, Australia and the Pacific islands; one species occurs naturally in Australia. Satterthwait (1982).

Passiflora - A genus of about 525 species mainly in the Americas but also found in Asia, Malesia, Australia and the Pacific islands; five species occur naturally in Australia and seven species have become naturalised. Satterthwait (1982).
