Leafy stems clothed in hairs.
Flowers in inflorescences of 6-8 flowers. Inflorescence axis square in cross section. Calyx with 1 large upper lobe and 2 small lobes laterally on either side of large lobe (3 fused sepals), calyx hairy on outer side, lobes strongly recurved. Corolla campanulate with upper lip 3-lobed, lower lip 2-lobed, base of corolla tube with long conical spur; corolla tube and lobes hairy on the outside; stamens 2 upper inserted near the mouth and 2 lower near the base of the tube.
Calyx enlarges in fruit.
Testa smooth.
Occurs in CYP, NEQ and CEQ. Altitudinal range from near sea level to 1080 m. Grows in rainforest margins, Eucalypt forest, Casuarina forest, sclerophyll forest, various types of woodland, shrubland and in wooded grassland.
