Seldom exceeding 30 cm dbh. Fine oak grain in the wood. Lenticels long and conspicuous. White granular and pinkish fibrous stripes in the outer blaze.

Leaf blades about 6-11.5 x 2-3.5 cm. Lateral veins scarcely visible on the upper surface but forming loops inside the blade margin. Midrib depressed on the upper surface.

Calyx glabrous on the outer surface, lobes about 0.5 mm long. Corolla pubescent on the outer surface, about 7-8 mm long. Staminal filaments about 4-4.5 mm long. Style about 7 mm long, stigma terminal.

Fruits glabrous, globular or ellipsoid, about 13 x 11 mm. Seeds about 8 x 6 mm, mucronate at the apex.

First pair of true leaves 3-lobed. Stem and terminal bud pubescent.

Probably endemic to NEQ, known only from collections from the Windsor Tableland and the Mt Spurgeon-Mt Lewis areas. Altitudinal range from 1000-1200 m. Grows in well developed mountain rain forest.
