Provisional HISPID phrase name.

Stem

Seldom exceeding 30 cm dbh. Lenticels long and conspicuous. White granular stripes in the outer blaze.

Leaves

Leaf blades about 5-6.5 x 1.5-3 cm. Lateral veins scarcely visible but forming loops inside the blade margin. Midrib depressed on the upper surface.

Flowers

Calyx sericeous on the outer surface, lobes about 0.7 mm long. Corolla sparsely pubescent on the outer surface towards the apex, but glabrous towards the base, about 7 mm long. Staminal filaments about 3.5 mm long. Style about 5 mm long, stigma terminal +/- 2-lobed.

Distribution and Ecology

Probably endemic to NEQ, known only from collections from the Bellenden Ker Range. Altitudinal range from 1500-1600 m. Grows in well developed mountain rain forest.
