A small tree not exceeding 30 cm dbh. Sapwood surface corrugated.

Stipules abruptly narrowed into a fine point at the apex. Leaf blades about 2.9-6 x 1.3-4 cm. Midrib raised on the upper surface. Domatia are foveoles with a comparatively narrow opening.

Calyx lobes short but obvious. Corolla tube about 1.2-1.5 mm long, lobes about 2-2.5 mm long. A distinct ring of hairs on the inner surface near the apex of the corolla tube, glabrous elsewhere. Corolla lobes with minutely papillose margins. Anthers papillose. Stigma peltate, +/- mitriform, distinctly 2-lipped at the apex.

Fruits about 8-9 mm long excluding the stalk.

Cotyledons +/- falcate, about 16 x 3 mm, petioles very short or absent. First leaves about 13 x 8 mm, petioles about 1 mm long. At the tenth leaf stage: leaf blade obovate-elliptic, about 2 cm long, shiny and hard, apex obtuse, margin recurved. Venation not obvious. Stipules about 2-3 mm long, curved and spreading, enclosing the terminal bud. Stem and stipules clothed in very short spreading hairs. Domatia absent. Seed germination time 272 days.

Probably endemic to Queensland, occurs in CYP and NEQ. Altitudinal range very small, from sea level to 10 m. Grows in monsoon forest and beach forest usually on sand dunes.
