Living bark layer thin. Dead bark layered.
Inflorescence not exceeding the leaves, but longer than the petioles. Calyx lobes about 1 mm long. Petals broadly spathulate, about 5 mm long. Ovary apex pubescent.
Infructescence not exceeding the leaves. Calyx lobes persisting at the apex of the fruits. Fruits globular or depressed globular, about 7-8 x 8-9 mm diam. Seeds variable in shape, about 3.5 x 3 mm.
Cotyledons ovate, about 6-8 mm long, apex mucronate. Oil dots very small, visible with a lens. At the tenth leaf stage: leaf blade ovate, apex acute or apiculate, base cuneate, hairs present only along midrib on both the upper and lower surfaces; oil dots small, visible with a lens. Seed germination time 52 to 85 days.
