Sapwood surface corrugated.

Young leaves and younger leaf bearing twigs densely clothed in brown hairs. Leaflets about 5-9 in the compound leaf, each leaflet blade about 4-8 x 1.4-2.8 cm. Midrib +/- flush with the upper surface. Leaf bearing twigs longitudinally grooved.

Inflorescence about 9-22 cm long, pedicels about 2-5 mm long. Calyx lobes narrowly ovate, about 1.5-1.75 mm long, pubescent. Petals obovate or orbicular, about 2 x 1.5 mm, each petal with a large, hairy, bilobed scale or structure near the base on the inner surface. Each lobe has a yellow gland at the base. Stamens eight, filaments hairy, about 4-5 mm long, inserted inside the disk. Anthers green, about 0.5 mm long. Pollen yellow.

Probably endemic to CYP, restricted to the Iron Range and McIlwraith Range areas. Altitudinal range from 400-500 m. Grows as an understory tree in upland rain forest.
