A family of about 65 genera and 1700 species, world wide, mostly in temperate and tropical areas.

Myoporum - A genus of about 35 species in Asia, Malesia, Indian and Pacific Ocean islands and Australia; about 15-18 species occur naturally in Australia. Stanley & Ross (1986).
