Stem

Seldom exceeding 30 cm dbh. Oak grain in the wood and a corresponding pattern in the inner blaze.

Leaves

Oak grain in the twigs. Adult leaves simple, narrowly oblanceolate or narrowly elliptic, about 2.5-11 x 0.4-1.8 cm. Leaves with 3-5 longitudinal veins more prominent than the rest. Terminal buds and young shoots densely clothed in rusty brown hairs.

Flowers

Inflorescence shorter than the leaves, each umbel with about 13-20 flowers. Peduncles about 8-15 mm long. Pedicels about 2-3 mm long. Tepals about 4-5 mm long, glabrous. Stamens sessile, anthers about 0.5-0.6 mm long. Hypogynous gland horseshoe-shaped, about 0.5 mm long. Ovary stalked, glabrous, about 1-1.5 mm long, ovules about 4-5. Styles about 3 mm long, glabrous. Pollen presenter a broad oblique disk.

Fruit

Fruit linear, about 4-6 mm long. Seed + wing about 10-12 x 3-5 mm.

Distribution and Ecology

Endemic to Australia, occurs in WA, NT, CYP and NEQ. Altitudinal range from near sea level to 200 m. Grows in monsoon forest and dry scrub among boulders.
