A family of five genera and about 200 species, mostly north temperate; one genus occurs naturally in Australia.
Genera
Sambucus - A genus of about 9 species, more or less cosmopolitan; two species occur naturally in Australia and one species has become naturalised. Kern & Steenis (1951); Stanley & Ross (1986).
