Small to medium tree to 6 m.

New growth deep pink and drooping. Leaves alternate, compound, with 3-6 leaflets. Paripinnate (leaf terminating with a pair of leaflets). Stipules absent. Petiole 2.4-3.5 cm long, swollen at base; petiolule (leaflet stalk) short and swollen at base, 4-9 mm long. Leaflet blade ovate or elliptic sometimes narrowly so, rarely oblanceolate or obovate, 7.5-13.5 cm long, 3.8-5.4 cm wide, base cuneate, margin entire, apex acute or acuminate, occasionally obtuse. Leaves glabrescent, with occasional appressed hairs on lower surface, venation more or less flush on upper surface. Domatia absent.

Flowers not seen.

Fruits usually a two lobed capsule, about 10 mm long, surface finely textured but not distinctly warty. Fruits loculicidally dehiscent, glabrescent on outer surface, glabrous on the inner surface except for fringe of hairs along valve margins. Fruit yellow at maturity. Aril orange, enclosing the seed. Seeds 1 per valve, about about 8 mm long.

Apparently endemic to CEQ, only known from Mt Dryander and Mt Jukes. Altitudinal range from 60 to 100 m. Grows in notophyll/mesophyll vine forest.
