Blaze odour faint, exudate slow and meagre.

Pulvinus present on the terminal leaflet but not on the lateral leaflets. Leaflet blades large, about 18-30 x 7.5-13 cm. Midrib and lateral veins raised on the upper surface of the leaflet blades. Twigs have a faint mango (Mangifera indica) odour. Stipules linear, about 2 cm long or longer.

Inflorescence up to 30-50 cm long. Petals about 3 mm long. Disk bright orange.

Fruits about 12-15 mm long. Cotyledons 3-lobed.

Cotyledons trifoliolate, petiole hairy. First pair of leaves with toothed margins. At the tenth leaf stage: leaves simple or compound with three leaflets, midrib hairy on upper surface; petiole hairy; stipules linear, hairy. Seed germination time 28 days.

Occurs in NEQ, restricted to the area between Mossman and Tully. Altitudinal range very small, from sea level to 100 m. Almost confined to creek and river banks in lowland rain forest. Also occurs in Malesia.
