Family Description

A family of ten genera and about 400 species, pantropic; four genera occur naturally in Australia.

Genera

Dillenia - A genus of 60 species in Madagascar, Asia, Malesia, Australia, Vanuatu and Fiji; one species occurs naturally in Australia. Hoogland (1951, 1952).

Hibbertia - A genus of more than 100 species in Madagascar, Malesia, Australia, New Caledonia and Fiji; about 100 species occur naturally in Australia. Reynolds (1991); Stanley & Ross (1983).

Tetracera - A genus of about 40 species, +/- pantropic; two species occur naturally in Australia. Hoogland (1953).
