Stem

Usually flowers and fruits as a shrub.

Leaves

Oak grain in the twigs. Leaf blades +/- obovate, about 7-12 x 3.5-5.5 cm, apex rounded except for the apical tooth, base attenuate, margin with a few scattered apiculate teeth. Lateral veins forming loops inside the blade margin. Young leaves and young shoots clothed in minute brown hairs.

Flowers

Tepals hairy on the inner surface at least on the upper half or more. Hypogynous gland horseshoe-shaped. Stigmatic surface +/- flat. Ovules 2 per ovary.

Fruit

Fruits ellipsoid or ovoid, about 21-23 x 16-19 mm. Seed + wing about 16-18 x 10-14 mm, seed about 9 x 5-6 mm. Cotyledons ovate, much wider and longer than the radicle.

Seedlings

Features not available.

Distribution and Ecology

Endemic to Australia, occurs in WA and NT. Altitudinal range not known but probably occurs from about sea level to 350 m. Usually grows in open forest but occasionally found in or on the margins of monsoon forest and vine thickets.
