Family

Stem

Usually flowers and fruits as a shrub about 1 m tall.

Leaves

Twigs, petioles and both the upper and lower surfaces of the leaf blade clothed in stellate hairs. Leaf blades about 5.5-14 x 2-6.2 cm. Lateral veins and some reticulate veins depressed on the upper surface of the leaf blade. Stipules filiform, hairy, about 5 mm long. Twig bark strong and fibrous when stripped.

Features not available.

Fruit

Fruit about 25-30 mm long. Outer surface clothed in stellate hairs and trichomes which are clothed in stellate hairs. Cotyledons folded around the radicle(?).

Seedlings

Features not available.

Distribution and Ecology

Occurs in NT. Altitudinal range not known. Grows as an understory plant in monsoon forest and vine thickets. Also occurs in Asia and Malesia.
