Thin orange layer under the dead bark.
Capsules about 5.5-10 x 2.5-3 cm. Seeds about 10 mm long on elongated funicles. Aril much larger than the seed. Fruits probably green at maturity but turning red after shedding the seed?
Cotyledons narrowly elliptic, about 7-8 x 2 mm. First pair of leaves elliptic, margins toothed. At the tenth leaf stage: leaf blade narrowly obovate or narrowly elliptic, apex acute or apiculate, base attenuate, glabrous, midrib raised on the upper surface; wings on stem start at base of petiole; stipules very small, narrowly triangular. Seed germination time 255 to 451 days.
