Can grow into a small tree but sometimes flowers and fruits as a shrub about 2-3 m tall.
Leaf blades about 5-13 x 3.5-7.5 cm. Stellate hairs present on both the upper and lower surfaces but more numerous on the lower surface. Petiole clothed in stellate hairs. Two or more flat glands present on the upper surface of the leaf blade near its junction with the petiole. Terminal buds and young shoots densely clothed in brown stellate hairs.
Capsules muricate, about 7 mm diam.

Occurs in CYP, NEQ, CEQ and southwards as far as north-eastern New South Wales. Altitudinal range from near sea level to 300 m. Grows in vine thickets, monsoon forest and the drier types of rain forest. Also occurs in New Guinea.
