Family Description

A family of 19 genera and about 440 species, pantropic; two genera occur naturally in Australia. Jessup, 2007.

Genera

Horsfieldia - A genus of about 100 species in Asia, Malesia, Australia and Pacific Islands; one species occurs naturally in Australia. Jessup (2007); Wilde (1985, 2000).

Myristica - A genus of about 175 species in Asia, Malesia, Australia and the Pacific islands; three species occur naturally in Australia, one endemic. Jessup & Wilde (1993) and Wilde (1991, 1997, 2000).
