Leaves

Leaf blades about 8.5-14.5 x 4.5-8.5 cm, petioles about 2.5-3 cm long.

Flowers

Flowers about 10-13 mm diam. Calyx lobes about 3 mm long. Right hand margin of the corolla lobes overlapping. Corolla tube about 4 mm long, lobes +/- erect, about 5 mm long. Anthers completely exserted beyond the corolla tube and fused to form a conical structure. Anthers narrow, about 4 mm long, apex attenuate, bases attenuate, each anther ending in two tails. Filaments spirally twisted, each filament about 5 mm long. Anthers ventrifixed. Stigma 2-lobed at the apex with a horizontal skirt at the base. Disk glands free from one another, about 1 mm long.

Fruit

Fruiting carpels about 10-18 x 0.5-0.9 cm.

Distribution and Ecology

In Australia found only in Arnhem Land in NT. Altitudinal range probably quite small being found only in areas close to sea level. Grows in rain forest or monsoon forest. Also occurs in SE Asia and Malesia.
