Shrub or tree, 1.5-8 m high, bark mid-grey to blackish, stringy or flaky.

Leaves elliptic or elliptic-oblong or slightly obovate, (5.2-)10-16.5 x (2.2-)3.5-7 cm; apex obtuse, rounded to rarely emarginate or shortly acuminate; base acute or obtuse and abruptly narrowing and attentuate; both surfaces hairy or rarely glabrous, hairs curved; lateral veins 12-14 pairs, looping at margins; stipules ovate and long acuminate, shortly connate, densely white hairy on outside with long and short appressed hairs.

Inflorescence bearing branches 1.2-10.5 cm long; inflorescence widely branched 4.5-6 x 6.5-11.5 cm; calyx 1.5-2.7 mm long, densely hairy with curly and usually appressed white hairs; calyx lobes distinct, 0.5-0.7 x 0.5-0.7 mm, broadly ovate, hairy or almost glabrous on outside; corolla tube glabrous or rarely hairy, (4-)7-10 mm long, wider at the mouth than base, corolla lobes 5-6.5 x 2-3 mm, oblong-elliptic, obtuse; anthers 4-5.5 mm long; style 2.5-3.7 mm long, glabrous.

Fuit 6-7 x 6-8 mm; seeds depressed globose, 3-4 x 5-6.5 mm.

Occurs in WA and NT. Altitudinal range from 20-100 m. Grows on open sandstone plateau, slopes and gorges, and in monsoon forest and vine thickets.
