Family Description

A family of 24 genera and 80 species, world wide tropics especiialy in New Guinea and Australia; seven genera occur naturally in Australia.

Genera

Austrobuxus - A genus of about 20 species in Malesia, Australia, New Caledonia and Fiji; two species occur naturally in Australia. Airy Shaw (1980a, 1980b); Forster (1997b); Webster (1994b).

Choriceras - A genus of two species in New Guinea and Australia; two species occur naturally in Australia. Airy Shaw (1980a, 1980b); Webster (1994b); Forster & van Welzen (1999).

Dissiliaria - A genus of six species endemic to Australia. Airy Shaw (1980a, 1980b), Forster (1997c), Harden et al. (2014); Webster (2014).

Neoroepera - A genus of two species endemic to Australia. Cooper & Cooper (2004); Department of the Environment (2016); Henderson (1992); Webster (1994b).

Petalostigma - A genus of six or seven species in Australia and New Guinea; six species occur naturally in Australia. Webster (1994b).

Sankowskya - A monotypic genus endemic to Australia. Forster (1995a).

Whyanbeelia - A monotypic genus endemic to Australia. Airy Shaw (1976).
