Family

Snow, N. (2007) Systematic Botany Monographs 82: 47. Type: AUSTRALIA, Queensland, Cook District, Margaret Bay, beach between Thorpe Point and MacMillan River, A. Gunness AG1959 (holo BRI; iso GREE).

Stem

A small tree probably not exceeding 30 cm dbh. Dead bark conspicuously layered.

Leaves

Twigs finely hairy when viewed with a lens. Leaf blades about 7.5-9.5 x 3-4.5 cm, petioles about 0.7-0.8 cm long, channelled on the upper surface. Leaves silver on the underside. Scattered oil dots visible with a lens. Midrib depressed on the upper surface.

Features not available.

Fruit

Infructescence not exceeding the leaves but usually exceeding the petioles. Calyx lobes persistent at the apex of the fruit. Fruits globular, about 6-7 mm diam. Seeds variable in shape, about 2.5-3 x 2.5 mm.

Distribution and Ecology

Endemic to CYP. Altitudinal range probably small, from sea level to 100 m. Grows in scrubby forest on old sand dunes, beach forest and similar vegetation.
