Stem

Stems up to 35 cm tall.

Leaves

Ligule chartaceous with long hairs on the shoulders and a ridge of very dense short hairs at the top.

Flowers

Inflorescence with one very long and 2 short leaf-like involucral bracts; 4-5 persistent bristles that are longer than the nut.Glume with dense asperities onthe margin.

Seedlings

Features not available.

Distribution and Ecology

An endemic species that occurs in NT, CYP, NEQ and CEQ. Altitudinal range from near sea level to 650 m. Grows in swampy areas in rainforest, Melaleuca forest also in moist places and along creeks in various types of woodland.
