A family of four genera and about 45 species in Asia, Australia and America; one genus occurs naturally in Australia.

Genera

Stemona - A genus of five species in Japan, Asia, Malesia and Australia; four species occur naturally in Australia. Duyfjes (1993); Telford (1986).
