Small tree 2-8 m tall. Seldom exceeding 30 cm dbh. Blaze odour sometimes obnoxious.

Inflorescence shorter than the leaves. Pedicels 2-5 mm long. Calyx lobes about 0.5 mm long, outside glabrous, inside villous. Corolla tube about 8-12 mm long, 2-3 mm wide at mouth, lobes about 3-4 mm long, glabrous throughout. Anthers about 2.5-3 mm long, attached near the top of the corolla tube, filaments much shorter than the anthers. Style about 8-9 mm long, stigma narrowly clavate, about 4-4.5 mm long.
