B35 fibrous The blaze texture is regarded as fibrous when it is found that small sections which have been levered out with the point of a knife have a somewhat stringy texture.
B36 granular The blaze texture is regarded as granular when it is found that small sections which have been levered out with the point of a knife have a granular but not a stringy texture. The texture may range from that of a stony pumpkin to a hard potato.

Inner blaze texture

The blaze is the surface of the cut bark. It is divided into an outer and inner layer. The two layers may be distinct, but frequently they are not. Where they are not distinct, the division is made half way through the living bark.
