Lenticel shape

Lenticels are small pustules on the stems of many rain forest trees and are composed of material which when rubbed between the fingers has the consistency of borer dust. To see the true colour of lenticels it may be necessary to rub the weathered material off the top of each lenticel to expose the fresher material beneath.
