FL79 petals or lobes not touching Petals not touching or overlapping one another in the mature flower bud.
FL80 petals or lobes valvate Petal margins touching but not overlapping in the mature flower bud.
FL81 petals or lobes imbricate (including contorted) Petals overlapping in any way in the mature flower bud.
The position of the petals relative to one another in the mature flower bud. The position of the sepals or tepals is used when the corolla is absent.
